By making a reservation with The Lawrance, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
1. General Terms
• Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions is automatic upon making a reservation.
• The Lawrance reserves the right to refuse any reservation at the discretion of management.
• Whilst every effort is made to accommodate requests, specific apartment numbers or locations within Harrogate and York cannot be guaranteed.
2. Published Rates
Rates & Pricing
• All rates are quoted in GBP (£) and include VAT at the prevailing rate.
• Rates are charged per apartment, per night and are subject to availability.
• Prices may change without notice until a reservation is confirmed.
• Reservations are only confirmed once payment has been received and a confirmation email has been issued.
• All payments are processed securely using the card details provided at the time of booking.
Pricing Errors
The Lawrance reserves the right to amend reservations where pricing errors have occurred due to technical or human error.
Promotions & Special Offers
• Subject to availability.
• Available only for direct bookings unless otherwise stated.
• Cannot be applied retrospectively.
• Restrictions may apply on selected dates.
3. Advance Purchase Rates
• Full payment is taken at the time of booking.
• Reservations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• No refund will be provided in the event of cancellation.
4. Reservations
Booking Requirements
• Full payment is required prior to arrival.
• A valid credit or debit card is required to secure all bookings.
• Reservations without valid payment details will be cancelled.
• Suspected fraudulent bookings may be cancelled immediately.
No Shows
In the event of a no-show, the full reservation value will be retained.
Occupancy Limits
Occupancy limits must be adhered to for fire safety compliance:

5. Payment Terms
Standard Payment Schedule
Bookings made more than one month before arrival:
• 20% deposit at booking.
• Remaining 80% collected one month prior to arrival.
Bookings made within one month of arrival:
• Full payment taken at booking.
Failed Payments
• Guests must provide alternative payment within 24 hours of a declined payment.
• Reservations may be cancelled if payment is not received.
Accepted Payments
• Visa and Mastercard accepted.
• American Express is not accepted.
• Cash payments are not accepted.
6. Security Deposits
The Lawrance reserves the right to request a security deposit at management discretion.
Mandatory Deposits
For bookings of two or more apartments:
• £100 security deposit per apartment.
• Payable one month before arrival.
Security Deposit Covers
• Damage
• Smoking
• Disturbance
• Additional cleaning
Additional charges beyond the security deposit may apply where necessary.
7. Gift Vouchers
Purchasing
• Gift vouchers may be purchased through The Lawrance website.
• A contract is formed once purchase confirmation has been issued.
• Payment is accepted via Visa or Mastercard only.
Redemption
• Valid for 365 days from purchase.
• Non-refundable and non-transferable unless authorised by management.
• Subject to availability.
Value Differences
• Additional payment is required if accommodation exceeds voucher value.
• No refund will be provided where accommodation costs less than the voucher value.
8. Additional Cleaning Charges
Additional cleaning resulting from misuse, excessive mess or damage will incur additional charges.
The Lawrance reserves the right to recover unpaid balances through legal proceedings where necessary.
9. Long Stay Reservations
• Based on consecutive 30-night stays.
• No refund for early departures.
• Payment is required one month prior to each 30-night period.
10. Check-In & Check-Out
Standard Times

Early Check-In
• £20 per hour.
• Earliest guaranteed arrival: 1:00pm.
• Subject to availability.
Late Check-Out
• £20 charge.
• Latest guaranteed departure: 12:00pm.
• Subject to availability.
Arrival Information
Self-check-in details will normally be sent within 24 hours of arrival via the email provided on the booking.
11. Keys & Access Devices

12. Cancellation Policy
Standard Rate Reservations
Cancellation Period Refund
More than 21 days = 100%
21–9 days = 50%
Less than 9 days = 0%
Third-Party Bookings
Cancellation requests must be made directly through the booking agent.
Advance Purchase Reservations
No refund or date changes permitted.
13. Amendments
More Than 21 Days Before Arrival
Date changes are permitted free of charge for bookings made under a flexible rate.
Less Than 21 Days Before Arrival
Subject to management approval and an administration fee.
Administration Fee
£45 per amendment.
Once amended, the booking will become subject to Advance Purchase cancellation terms. This means that, in the event of a cancellation of the amended booking, no refund or alternative date will be offered.
Please also note that any difference in room rate for the newly selected dates will be applied to the reservation. If the room rate for the new dates is lower than the original rate, no refund or credit will be provided for the difference.
14. Accessibility & Special Requirements
Guests with mobility requirements should contact reception before booking.
The Lawrance is not advertised as accessible accommodation.
15. Special Requests
• Extra beds and cots are available in selected apartments.
• Subject to availability and additional charges.
• Requests cannot be guaranteed.
16. Housekeeping
Reservations of seven nights or more include:
• Weekly service clean
• Fresh towels
• Fresh linen
• Bin emptying
Additional cleans are available for a charge.
17. Security & Visitors
• Non-residents must leave by 10:00pm.
• Guests must respect security arrangements and other residents.
18. Noise Policy
Guests must be considerate of neighbouring apartments and local residents.
The Lawrance reserves the right to:
• Apply fines.
• Recover loss of revenue.
• Terminate stays without refund.
• Refuse future reservations.
19. Tanner Row – York Specific Terms
Important Information
• Minimum age: 18
• Maximum occupancy: 2 adults
• No children
• No pets
• No lift access
• Self-check-in property
Additional cleaning, damage and security deposit policies may apply.
20. Lost Property
• Items left behind remain the responsibility of the guest.
• Small items may be returned at the guest's expense.
• Large items may be disposed of.
• Food and drinks will be disposed of within 24hrs.
21. Smoking Policy
Smoking/Vaping is prohibited throughout all apartments and public areas.
Smoking Charge
Minimum £200 charge for fumigation and associated costs.
Future reservations may be refused.
22. Loss, Damage & Misconduct
Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the apartment, its contents, fixtures, fittings, or communal areas during their stay, including but not limited to:
• Damage to property or furnishings
• Theft
• Missing items
• Excessive cleaning costs
• Business interruption losses resulting from damage or misconduct
The Lawrance reserves the right to charge the payment card provided at the time of booking for the reasonable cost of repairing any damage, replacing missing items, carrying out additional cleaning, or recovering any losses incurred as a result of the guest's actions or negligence.
Any illegal, antisocial, or immoral activity, or behaviour that causes nuisance or disturbance to other guests, staff, or neighbouring residents, will result in immediate eviction without refund. The Lawrance also reserves the right to recover any associated costs or losses from the payment card provided for the booking.
23. Emergency Out-of-Hours Service

Emergency Examples
• Fire alarm
• Flooding
• Power failure
• Serious disturbances
In the event of a serious emergency requiring an immediate response, guests should contact the appropriate emergency services by dialling 999 before notifying The Lawrance.
Serious emergencies include, but are not limited to:
• Fire or suspected fire
• Gas leak or suspected gas leak
• Carbon monoxide alarm activation
• Medical emergencies requiring urgent assistance
• Crime in progress, break-ins, or threats to personal safety
• Any incident posing an immediate risk to life, health, or safety
Once emergency services have been contacted, guests should notify The Lawrance as soon as reasonably practicable.
Out-of-Hours Non-Emergency Call-Outs
A non-emergency call-out fee of between £75 and £150 may be charged where staff, security personnel, or contractors are required to attend the property between 6:00pm and 9:00am as a result of guest actions or circumstances that do not constitute an emergency. This includes, but is not limited to, lockouts, lost keys, forgotten belongings, failure to follow check-in instructions, or issues resulting from misuse of the apartment or its facilities.
The applicable fee will depend on the nature of the incident and the costs incurred. The Lawrance reserves the right to charge the payment card provided at the time of booking for any such fees.
24. Liability & Force Majeure
The Lawrance accepts no liability for circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:
• Severe weather
• Utility failures
• Government action
• Industrial disputes
• Natural disasters
• War or civil unrest
25. Wi-Fi & Technology
Wi-Fi is provided as a complimentary service and availability cannot be guaranteed.
Guests are responsible for:
• Their devices
• Smart TV logins
• Compliance with all applicable laws
26. Maintenance & Service Interruptions
Access may be required for essential maintenance.
The Lawrance cannot guarantee uninterrupted provision of:
• Electricity
• Water
• Internet
• Heating
• Communications services
27. Age Restrictions
All guests must be at least 18 years old.
Identification may be requested on arrival.
28. Children & Extra Beds
Harrogate – Duchy Apartments
Children of all ages are welcome.

Families are welcome.

29. Dogs
Harrogate – Duchy Road
Dogs are not permitted.
York – Micklegate
Dogs including assistance dogs may be accepted in selected apartments.Please contact reception to book.
Conditions include:
• Prior approval required.
• £20 per dog per night charge
• £50 security deposit per dog.
• Dogs must not be left unattended.
• Large breeds may not be accepted.
• Unauthorised pets will incur charges.
• Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times in the courtyard.
York - Tanner Row
Dogs are not permitted.
30. Car Parking
Harrogate
• £10 per vehicle per night.
• Vehicle registration required.
York
No on-site parking available.
Unauthorised parking may result in penalties.
31. Changes Made By The Lawrance
In rare circumstances reservations may need to be amended or cancelled.
Where possible, alternative accommodation will be offered.
Refunds will be provided where applicable.
32. Website Information
Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, website content may change without notice.
Images are representative only and apartment layouts may vary.
33. Limitation of Liability
Nothing within these terms limits liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.
Otherwise, liability is limited to the greater of:
• £1,000; or
• The total value of the reservation.
34. Accommodation Status
Apartments are provided as serviced accommodation only.
No tenancy, assured tenancy or statutory tenancy rights are created.
35. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising.
